Our History

On November 3rd, 2000, GraceKennedy Ltd. took the bold step of acquiring Trafalgar Development Bank’s majority shares, making TCB a wholly-owned subsidiary of GraceKennedy, one of the Caribbean’s largest conglomerates, with several diversified companies in the Caribbean, Europe and North America. Trafalgar Commercial Bank was eventually renamed First Global Bank Limited on January 1, 2002.

  • Banking Services for both individuals, SME and Corporate Businesses including Online and Mobile APP Banking and Local/International Wire Transfers.

FGB has developed the reputation of redefining the banking experience through its commitment to providing cutting-edge financial solutions with the highest standards of customer service delivery. The bank is responsible for introducing a number of firsts to the Jamaican financial market, including Jamaica’s first mobile banking app, the VISA Debit Card with Chip and PIN security and the innovative automated Video Teller Machines (VTMs).

FGB is currently staffed with just over two hundred employees and an asset base of over US$ 400 million, as at December 2017. The bank operates eight (8) full-service branches across the major urban centres of Kingston, Portmore, Mandeville, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. FGB continues to expand its geographic reach through a series of mini-branches called First Global MoneyLink in communities across the island. FGB also launched Jamaica’s first banking agent service in September 2018.
